Fortunately, Luz discovers a light glyph on her recording of Eda's spell and, using King's knowledge of demons, knocks Eda out with a large glyph and reverts her back with some elixir. When Eda comes to, she gets mad at King stealing her elixir but calms down when she sees Luz mastering her first spell. Eda also confesses the curse is the true reason why she's called the Owl Lady.

Despite being banned from Hexside, Luz still wishes to attend the school, but Eda is against the notion, to the point where she states would rather watch the school burn down than have her attend. Her apprehension for Luz's enrollment stems from her belief that Hexside suppresses anything unique in favor of conformity, and she does not wish for Luz to conform to the coven system.
Raine asks if she still does any bard spells, and her excuse is the curse messes with her magic, which is why she stopped performing. Like before, her performance causes everything around her to shrivel and die, which interests Raine. Eda's curse begins to worsen and despite Lilith's attempts to help her, she refuses to have anything to do with her. Eda begins focusing on helping Luz achieve her goal to the point that she begins to fear that she is incapable of setting out on her own, especially due to her more happy-go-lucky way of doing things. Nevertheless, Eda starts to become more attached to Luz and even makes a cloak for her as a way of showing her appreciation for how much she has progressed as a witch in training. Eda is horrified to learn from Luz's friends Willow Park and Gus Porter that Luz has been kidnapped by Lilith and arrives at the Emperor's Coven to finally confront her in a witch's duel.

Raine was assigned as a "Wild Witch" while Eda was a "Coven Witch", forcing the two to be on opposing teams. Raine lasted the longest of the Wild Witches, and when they got cornered, Eda betrayed her teammates, leaving the two friends to face off against each other. However, instead of attacking each other, Raine and Eda cooperated to launch an attack on Terra instead. Unexpectedly, Terra was amused by their behavior, but she still didn't give any ribbons to the students. Once Raine transferred to Hexside, Eda would become very close to them, and the two became romantic partners at an undisclosed point.
